Overview

In this module, we discuss human physiology from the perspective of preventing basic physiological states (such as hunger or sleep deprivation) that are rather fundamental to being able to reason most effectively. Being skillful in these areas is just as important as being able to recognize cognitive bias or logical fallacies. The primary sections include the following:

  • Sleep: Essential dimensions of sleep physiology that provide a strong foundation for rationality
  • Nutrition: How nutritional choices can either benefit or detract from your mental effectiveness
  • Musculature: Performing well requires preventative care of your musculature
  • Movement: The diverse performance and health benefits of physical movement
  • Environment: Physiological components to how your working environment can affect your performance
